Although its graphics are archaic by today's standards, RBI Baseball for the original NES continues to provide me and my friends countless hours of entertainment and competitive action. The game has several modes of play to choose from, including watch mode. And while playing against the computer quickly becomes tiresome, the game's two-player mode is what gives it its alluring feel and makes it a classic. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The first great baseball game for the Nintendo NES.
This wasn't the first baseball game to come out for the NES, and some of the later games featured better graphics and allowed player development, but when this game came out in 1988, it immediately became one of the best games available for the NES. You can take control of one of the 8 playoff contender teams from 1986 or 1987, or one of the 1987 All-Star teams, and you can play a computer-controlled opponent, play another human opponent, or just watch the action.
